Gavin Henson swings for WWF
29 August 2005
Welsh rugby hero Gavin Henson has chosen to donate the money he raises at the celebrity version of the Ryder Cup, held at the Celtic Manor Resort in south Wales, to help support the work of WWF.
"We are delighted that Gavin Henson has chosen WWF as his charity for the event," said Morgan Parry, Head of WWF Cymru.
"The money that is being raised will help safeguard the survival of endangered species and their habitats as well as taking action to combat threats from toxic chemicals and rising consumption levels."
Gavin will be competing along side the likes of actress Catherine Zeta Jones and her husband Michael Douglas, model Jodie Kidd and singer Ronan Keating.
The All Star Cup will be presented by Terry Wogan, Kirsty Gallacher and Jamie Theakston on Sky One over the August Bank Holiday weekend.
