New Press and Media Officer for WWF Cymru
30 January 2006
Kim Richards has been appointed Press and Media Officer for WWF Cymru. Based in the organisation's Cardiff Bay office her key responsibilities will be to promote WWF's work in a wide range of media and to raise the profile of the brand across Wales.
Kim, 25, is originally from Aberystwyth. It was there in her hometown she gained a Business degree from the University of Wales before successfully completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Public and Media Relations at Cardiff University's School of Journalism.
Before joining WWF Cymru she worked for the Welsh Assembly Government's communications department, where she worked with the Internet team on their new website. She is a fluent Welsh speaker.
Kim will join Ruth Bates to form WWF Cymru's new communications team. Ruth has been with the organisation for nearly three years and has been promoted to be the Communications Manager.
"Kim's enthusiasm and skills to communicate bilingually will be a great asset to WWF Cymru. Consumer awareness of environmental and sustainable issues in Wales is increasingly important especially as politicians prepare for the National Assembly elections in 2007. Kim will play a key role in raising WWF's profile during this crucial time," said Ruth Bates.
