How you can help
WWF Cymru is calling for Volunteer's!
This summer WWF Cymru will be present at a number of events across Wales, to which we would like to invite you to work alongside us on a voluntary basis.

The theme of our events is 'Shrinking our footprint' which forms part of our One Planet Wales campaign. Through WWF's ecological footprint calculator people can unearth accurately their consumption levels.
We plan to have stands at Llangollen International Eisteddfod (8 - 13 July) and the Royal Welsh Show (21-24 July), which will give people the opportunity to calculate their footprint and to take part in WWF Cymru's Pedal for the Planet bike challenge.
The bike challenge gives people the opportunity to climb aboard two specially adapted bikes to see how much energy they can generate in one minute.
There are two possible areas of interest involved; an environmental/conservation area of work and the PR work involved in promoting an international charity such as WWF. These areas may be of interest to students studying Journalism/Media and Environmental students. We are hoping to give those interested the opportunity to volunteer their time to accompany us to these events. They would benefit from hands on experience and thus gain a real insight into the workings of an international charity.
All our volunteer expenses will be covered by WWF Cymru. Activities will include handing out general information packs, informing members of the public of our work and the activities on display. You would also be required to have a genuine interest in Environmental issues. Additionally we would ask volunteers to become case studies for our footprint calculator.
Alternatively if you are unable to volunteer your time but you are happy to become a case study for WWF Cymru then we would be eager to hear from you. Becoming a case study will entail calculating your Ecological Footprint, which takes around 5 minutes online. Your picture and comments would subsequently appear on our website and we would like to use your results in the media in Wales, and possibly the national UK press.
All that is required for you to do to become a case study is to to complete the online calculator at http://footprint.wwf.org.uk/ and to provide quotes for WWF Cymru. This can be done over the phone.
If you are interested in volunteering with us or becoming a WWF Cymru Footprint case study please Kim Richards by emailing
