As a nation Scotland can lead the way
Don't miss this unique opportunity to make your voice heard. Support the Scottish Climate Change Bill through our online action.
Scotland's Climate Change Bill may be the most important piece of legislation in our lifetime. It could establish our nation as an international leader in tackling climate change, helping secure the future for millions of people and giving hope for species, like the polar bear threatened with extinction as the Arctic ice melts.
If we can keep the average global temperature increase below 2°C, the worst effects of climate change could be avoided. To do this, the world needs to cut its greenhouse gas emissions by a minimum of 50% by 2050. That means that developed countries like Scotland should reduce their emissions by 80%. But if we are going to achieve this, we need to start taking action now.
That's why the Scottish Climate Change Bill is so important. It could provide the framework for a low carbon Scotland within the right timescale, and it could place Scotland as a world leader in tackling climate change.
Stop Climate Chaos Scotland
Stop Climate Chaos Scotland is a growing coalition on climate change, bringing together environment and development organisations, unions, faith, community and women's groups. WWF Scotland is part of this environmental movement.
