Chemicals and Health
Many everyday objects (such as carpets, sofas, food packaging) contain chemicals which can affect the development of humans and wildlife through our hormones. WWF is urging the EU to phase-out these harmful man-made substances. The EU is currently debating new regulations for chemicals. Help us seize this opportunity to reduce the threat of hazardous chemicals in our everyday lives by lobbying the EU for tough legislation. Find out more.

One Million Sustainable Homes
Lower bills, cleaner neighbourhoods and great local amenities at no extra cost to the environment - all possible through sustainable housing. Sustainable houses are built in an environmentally friendly way and allow residents to live in them with minimum impact on the environment. WWF is asking the UK government to set minimum environmental standards for new housing development as a means of delivering one million sustainable homes by 2012. Find out more.

Climate Change Campaign
Our way of life, our wildlife and our environment are threatened by the chaos caused by climate change. WWF is calling on governments and the power sector to limit CO2 emissions - a major cause of global warming - to help ensure the average rise in global temperature stays well below 2°C. Marine Act Campaign
The UK's marine environment is in a state of crisis. Some species and habitats are suffering serious declines. Inadequate planning and poor management of human activities at sea are magnifying the pressures on marine wildlife. WWF-UK has been campaigning for a new marine law to enable developments at sea to progress in harmony with the ecosystem.

Wildlife Trade
WWF and TRAFFIC have campaigned tirelessly to get the maximum prison sentence for wildlife trade crimes increased from two to five years, thereby making these offences arrestable in the UK. With your help we delivered a petition signed by 12,000 people to the government and now the government has tabled an amendment to the Criminal Justice Bill which will bring these changes into effect. Thank you for all your help. Find out more.

Oceans Recovery Campaign
As a result of WWF's successful Oceans Recovery Campaign (ORCA) in 2001, the UK government's attitude to protecting our marine environment has shifted. It has started to evaluate the level of marine protection, and is deciding where action is needed. WWF is now pressing hard for a UK wide and a Scottish Marine Act to be passed. These Acts are essential if we are to benefit economically and culturally from our seas while ensuring they are properly protected. Find out more.
