Laura Ford

Encrusted Panda
Panda, Crystical Alfa K
H 100 cm

Lot no: 11

Ford recalled that barnacles were severely impacted by a chemical used in ship paint. So although the barnacles encrusting this panda and its baby look destructive, they’re intended to signify a healthier environment.

“My impression of WWF has changed a lot because I hadn’t really thought about it probably since I was a kid, so I just assumed they were doing the same sort of things, you know saving tigers and pandas and nothing much else… but of course doing those things has knock-on effects, so it makes it a much more interesting organisation, and much more relevant to today’s issues.”

Estimated value: £4,000 - £5,000
