Nigel Coates - Pandamonium
Nigel Coates
Pandada Table
Pandas, plywood, glass - edition of eight
H 90 x L 95 x W90 cm
Lot no: 15
A glass table top is supported by pandas – a functional but thought-provoking piece that highlights how these animals are struggling with their environment.
The fragility of the ecosystem is echoed through the pandas supporting the weight of the structure. Yet the placement of the glass (severing the pandas) is a raw awakening to the continual destruction of our planet, caused by people’s actions. This work lends hope that we can find creative solutions to these issues.
Estimated value: £2,000 - £3,000
