local matters will host discussion forums to provide the opportunity to discuss key issues with colleagues and guest experts.

Purpose: For those working in the field to share thoughts, concerns and ideas about Community Planning, Best Value, LA21, well-being and the modernising agenda.

Sustainability or well-being? (in conjunction with the Sustainability Practitioners' Network)
Date: June 2001
Purpose: To define the workshop headings and themes for the LA21/Sustainability Practitioners' Annual Forum in 2001.

DISCUS online discussion forum
Date: May/June 2002
Purpose: To provide a forum for representatives from 28 European countries (including practitioners, writers and academics in the field of sustainable development, governance and civil society) where they could answer key questions on strategy, delivery and outcomes of sustainable development policies in their regions.
