Free training material on sustainable construction
Wednesday 5 January 2005
FaberMaunsell is providing free training material on sustainable construction to those involved in the planning process.
Sustainable Construction - Practical Guidance for Planners and Developers explains to mixed audiences of planners and developers the relevance of sustainable construction to their professions and gives pragmatic, practical information on measures they should consider.
The training and guidance, developed over 18 months and through 9 regional workshops, provides a practical introduction to a wide range of measures to address the impact of new developments, including on energy use, water resources, biodiversity, amenity, natural resources and waste. It links the measures to requirements within national, regional and local planning policy.
The training produced is freely available for use by any organisation from www.sustainable-construction.org.uk and should prove a powerful tool in the movement towards a more sustainable built environment. A CD-ROM version is also available from FaberMaunsell.
