How you can help
Switch on to green electricity
Tuesday 1 February 2005
WWF has just teamed up with green electricity supplier Ecotricity to help address the global threat posed by climate change.
The new partnership is looking at ways in which businesses and consumers can reduce their environmental impact now and in the future.
Conventional electricity generation produces the UK's highest levels of carbon dioxide emissions - CO2 being the principal cause of climate change. To help reduce these emissions, Ecotricity is building new wind turbines to replace polluting sources of electricity.
As well as helping WWF practice what it preaches - by supplying green electricity to its offices in the UK - Ecotricity is also helping fund WWF's Climate Chaos! Campaign and its other work around the world tackling climate change.
For every new customer that signs up to Ecotricity, it will donate £15 to WWF and plant a native tree in Gloucestershire.
