World Environment Day 2007

Tuesday 5 June 2007
The United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) has marked World Environment Day by launching a major new report Snow & Ice.
The report focuses on the impacts of climate change on polar ecosystems. The report findings highlight the rapid rise in temperatures in the Arctic and Antarctic which is more than three times the global average. It also shows that 90% of Antarctic glaciers are in retreat and the cause is man made climate change.
