Welcome to WWF Cymru's Winter Newsletter!
Introduction
Here's wishing you all a happy new year and to thank you for your support throughout 2006.
The past three months have been busy and rewarding. October saw Iwan Ball join us as Welsh Marine Policy Officer; in November we worked alongside partners to ensure a Welsh presence at the 'Stop Climate Chaos' rally in London; and in December we held a very successful Christmas pub quiz for Assembly members and staff. We have also received the support of two famous Welsh chefs, Dudley Newbery and Bryn Williams as part of our sustainable fishing campaign. The Severn barrage has been much discussed, in academic conferences, the media and public forums.
And now at the beginning of 2007 we are looking forward to another challenging year, with an early focus on the Assembly elections in May. Climate change issues are high on our agenda as well as pushing for a much needed new Marine Act. As the Assembly gains legislative powers, we must maximise our influence on politicians but also continue to propose new policies and scrutinise Government performance in these vitally important areas.

Morgan Parry - Head of WWF Cymru
Competition
In this issue we have two free tickets to give away to watch Cardiff City play Stoke City in Cardiff on Saturday, 14th April 2007.
All you need to do is email us at cymru@wwf.org.uk the answer to the following question by 31st March 2007:
How many countries does WWF operate in?
a) Over 60 b) Over 70 c) Over 90
The winner of our Christmas competition was Camilla Skjerve-Neilssen from Cardiff who told us, that she would be buying clothes and fabrics from second hand shops and making them into cushion covers as Christmas gifts, thus supporting charities and saving resources.
Congratulations to Camilla!
