This Carbon Tracker report, supported by WWF-UK, illustrates how London is financing coal operations globally through listing on the London Stock Exchange. Besides issues of carbon accountability, UK investors are exposed to a large potential systemic risk as regulation of carbon dioxide emissions from coal increases. In a related letter to the governor of the Bank of England, a group of investors, NGOs (including WWF-UK), MP's, and academics, have urged the government to fully consider these risks and to think about appropriate action.
