After a recent voyage to the Arctic to see the effects of climate change first hand, young ambassadors Emma Biermann and Casper ter Kuile have delivered WWF-UK's 'Get on Board' campaign petition to Prime Minister, Gordon Brown.

The 8,300 signature petition calls for the government to commit to reducing the UK's CO2 emissions by at least 80% by 2050 in the UK Climate Change Bill, which is currently going through Parliament. The petition also calls for the inclusion of emissions from international aviation and shipping from the outset.

"It is essential that the petition is taken on board by the government because the situation is far more urgent than many people had feared", said Emma. "Visiting the Arctic and hearing the scientific background has confirmed how serious this issue is. Climate change is everyone's problem, but that also means everyone has a part to play in the solution."

In addition to the petition, WWF continues to lobby MPs as the Bill goes through the final stages of scrutiny in Parliament.
