MBNA Europe Bank Ltd
As the issuer of the WWF credit card, MBNA Europe Bank Limited is one of our largest and most important partners.
What we’re doing
MBNA contributes £40 to WWF for each account used within 90 days of opening, 40p for every £100 spent on card purchases and £2 for every year the account remains open and active. This longstanding partnership has so far generated more than £10 million for WWF’s projects around the world.
The strong relationship we have forged goes way beyond the credit card collaboration. For example, MBNA is a member of our Global Forest & Trade Network which promotes responsible management of the world’s forests. MBNA also sponsored the WWF One Planet Schools programme and were a supporting partner of Earth Hour in 2010.
Why we’re doing it
Rajiv Gupta, director of affinity marketing, MBNA Europe Bank Limited, says:
"The WWF Visa Card is one of our largest and longest-standing affinity programmes and we are delighted to support WWF in their conservation work through the contributions made, at no extra cost to our cardholders."
Patrick Laine, director of corporate partnerships at WWF-UK, says:
"The WWF Visa Card raises significant funds each year, enabling us to carry out vital conservation work around the world. We're delighted to be working with MBNA and are confident our partnership will continue to thrive."
