Useful information and FAQs
Got a question about putting on a performance of One Sun One World?
The information below should answer most queries, but please contact us if you need any further information.
Age range for vocal parts
One Sun One World spans the transitional period between primary and secondary age children and upwards to GSCE. It is primarily written for voices of students aged 9-16. Older voices were used in the premiere performance at the Royal Albert Hall and the issues raised in the libretto are ageless. The concepts in the libretto are suitable for children up to age 18 for use to inspire devised drama or creative composition.
Orchestral parts
One Sun One World is now available for performance, published by Josef Weinberger Ltd.

Orchestral options
One Sun One World was conceived to be performed by whatever forces your organisation has at its disposal. The orchestration lends itself to either a full complement of musicians or to a judicious selection of instruments to give textures and colours to the Vocal Score piano part.
- Option 1 - If you have the above forces in your Youth Orchestra or School Orchestras then you will be able to play the full score and enjoy it’s beautiful colours.
- Option 2 - With access to the vocal score, which has a full piano accompaniment (unlike the orchestra version which is designed to be part of the orchestra), you can select instruments with artistic sensitivity according to what you have and make a wonderful performance of your own.
- Option 3 - You might enlist player support from your team of peripatetic musicians, perhaps to lead sections or support from the back. This has already been done in Wigan and a paragraph will appear on this website shortly from the Artistic Direct of this performance.
Devised drama, movement or dance
One Sun One World lends itself in every way not only to creating drama, movement and dance in linked workshops but also to enhance the performance itself should you so desire. Rights for this type of event are outlined above.
Further guidance on dance will be issued in September and organisations’ own ideas will undoubtedly provide a limitless variety of performances over the years. Those which take place in 2011 as part of the 50th Anniversary Celebrations for WWF will doubtless lead the way and provide benchmarks for the future.
