Take action to stop ivory trade
Call on the UK government to help stop the elephant poaching crisis
I urge The UK government to take a stand for elephants by:
- Banning the elephant ivory trade in the UK
- Using UK political influence to ensure that key ivory markets overseas are shut down
- Calling for sentencing guidelines in England and Wales to ensure that wildlife trade criminals are effectively punished
We will use your name to show the UK government that the public wants urgent action to bring an end to elephant poaching.
Around 20,000 African elephants are killed by poachers each year for their ivory tusks. We must act now to protect these incredible animals.
The government has now announced plans for a UK ivory trade ban. But we must hold them to account to make sure they deliver their commitment as soon as possible.
The problem is some ivory antiques from the UK are legally shipped to Asia, where demand is driving the poaching crisis. A legal ivory trade can also provide a cover for criminals to launder illegal ivory. Now is the time for the UK government to take action to tackle the illegal ivory trade.

UK ivory consultation
The government has announced plans for an ivory trade ban and is now asking for people's opinions through a public consultation. This takes us one step closer to making the ban a reality. Use our simple form to respond to the consultation.
