Home Education workshops

We're delighted to welcome home education groups to the Living Planet Centre in Woking, where our highly experienced education team will inspire and support your children to explore, discover and learn.

We have a whole range of fun, interactive workshops at our fantastic sustainable building.  Please make a booking using the online form and before the workshop we’ll send you an educators’ pack with ideas for activities and information to help you plan your visit. All WWF workshops are free but we welcome a suggested donation of £2 per child. Workshops will be grouped into age categories (5-7 and 7-11), offered twice a year and will be filled on a first come first served basis.

TROPICAL CHOCOLATE - 26TH APRIL

Key Stage 2 (age 7-11)

The rainforest is a rich and inspiring learning topic. Come and explore the incredible species and products of the rainforest through our fun, interactive exhibition and ‘Tropical Chocolate’ quiz. Your children will discover the process of chocolate making from bean to bar, learn more about fair trade and even make their own delicious chocolate truffles. They’ll also think creatively about packaging that does not harm the environment and will be able to take their tasty truffles home at the end of the workshop.

RIver Story - 6th June

Key Stage 2 (age 7-11)

In this creative and engaging workshop children will be inspired by the epic journey of a salmon going up the river and the animals it meets on the way. They’ll discover different habitats through the WWF Experience and create their own exciting story, using iPads and the puppet pals app, animal puppets and other fun props. They’ll also find out how we can all help through small actions to keep our rivers clean and flowing.

Next Home Education Day - September 17th 2019

The next home education day will be on the 17th September 2019 and will focus on the rich and inspiring learning topic of the rainforest.  Come and explore the incredible species and products of the rainforest through our fun, interactive exhibition and tailor made quizzes as well as fun and interactive activities designed to encourage your children to explore, discover and learn.

10am -12pm - Tropical Chocolate for Key Stage 1 (5-7 year olds)

Your children will discover the process of chocolate making from bean to bar, learn more about fair trade and even make their own delicious chocolate truffles. 1pm -3pm - Amazing Amazon for Key Stage 2 (7-11 year olds)

In this creative and engaging workshop children will discover the different layers of the rainforest from the dark forest floor to the tallest tree tops and learn all about the fascinating animals that live there. Our Learning Zone is always filled with excitement as children create their very own rainforest e-book with images, text and short videos - using our top tips to keep their readers engaged.
