As my elected MP, you have real power to act on this crisis. The following briefing sets out what needs to be done – in short, we need ambitious laws to end our contribution to climate change and create a healthier environment for nature and people, we need to scale up investment to tackle the climate and environmental emergency, and we need to put environmental and climate action at the heart of the UK’s global agenda. Please write to your party leader or leadership contenders, calling on them to support this agenda. http://thetimeisnowmap.co.uk/resources/briefing_the_lobby_asks.pdf
I was inspired that so many people from different walks of life came together to call for the urgent action we need, and I hope you were too. It shows that there is a united public demand for politicians to act with urgency, and that this must now be a political priority.
Our world is under threat like never before. Globally we’re using the planet’s resources faster than nature can restore itself. We’re decimating wildlife and causing devastating changes to the climate. We could be the last generation that can stop devastating climate change and halt biodiversity loss.
As thousands of people came to tell you and your colleagues on the day, the time is now to end the UK’s contribution to climate change and to pass ambitious laws that create a healthier environment for nature and people. Please act on this crisis with the urgency it demands.
I look forward to hearing about what action you have taken.
