Supporting British Science Week 2021
04 January 2021
WWF-UK is excited to be supporting British Science Week 2021
British Science Week is a ten-day celebration of science, technology, engineering and maths that will take place between 5-14 March 2021. Getting involved in British Science Week is really easy, and you can take part in lots of different ways. WWF-UK has contribute to the secondary activity pack, which looks to break down the stereotypes surrounding science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and promote cross-curricular learning, to the theme of ‘Innovating for the future’.
Some of our best loved classroom resources support two activities for British Science week - Action on Biodiversity and Shaping the Future - and these supporting resources can be accessed below. Download the FREE activity pack and get involved by visiting britishscienceweek.org.
Activity: Action on biodiversity
You will gain practical skills through the challenge of monitoring biodiversity in your local area, and planning action to make improvements for the benefit of nature and people. This includes collecting and analysing data to identify trends and key findings, followed by writing up a report to communicate your discoveries.
Activity: Shaping the Future
In this activity you will learn about and consider the role of biomes in the overall ‘living system’ of our planet, research the causes of problems threatening these biomes, and then research and develop your own innovative solutions for a positive future.
