Commenting the Prime Minister's announcements today on electric vehicles at the Zero Emission Vehicle Summit in Birmingham, Gareth Redmond-King, Head of Climate at WWF said:

"This summit has added zero ambition to the UK Government's plans to tackle climate change. The Prime Minister wants the UK to lead the way on zero-emission vehicles.  But many other countries are ending the sale of conventional cars a decade before the UK, all while new petrol and diesel cars continue polluting here for another 22 years. If we are to protect people and nature from the increasing threats of climate change, we must get into the fast lane by committing to 100% zero emission vehicle sales from 2030."
