Tobin Aldrich, Director of Fundraising at WWF-UK, said: "The Big Give enabled WWF to maximise funds from all of our income streams across the organisation.  It has been a great incentive for us to develop our new media tools, such as online social networks, and gave WWF the opportunity to reach many new donors while also inspiring regular supporters to give more."

"I was impressed with WWF's proactive approach to the Christmas Challenge, and the way that they marketed to different types of donor," said Sir Alec Reed CBE, founder of The Big Give.

The Big Give promotes the work of 7,000+ charities to philanthropists, foundations, companies and public donors. The Big Give is free to all users thanks to the generous support of the Reed Foundation, the charitable arm of Reed Specialist Recruitment. The Big Give 2010 supported 323 charities spanning all sectors, from children and health to environment and arts.

Overall the challenge raised a total of £9.2 million with over 16,000 people donating online. WWF would like to thank everyone who supported the Christmas Challenge and helped raise this incredible amount and Sir Alec Reed, who founded this superb initiative.
