Make
bird feeder shapes
Birds will always welcome a bit of extra food, so make them some tasty treats to enjoy!
Ask an adult to help!
Put some of the coconut oil into a bowl, then stand the bowl in a saucepan of hot water until the oil’s melted.
Spoon some bird seed mix in to the muffin tins. (You could stand some cookie cutters on a foil-covered baking tray if you haven’t got silicone muffin cases.)
Slowly pour the melted coconut oil in to the muffin tins (or cookie cutters). Make sure you coat all the seeds really well.
Knot a loop of string and push it in to the coconut oil while it’s still warm. Put the tray in the fridge for a few hours, then leave the shapes to set overnight.
Gently push the bird-food shapes out of the cases or cutters and hang them outside for the birds to enjoy!
