Make your own
paper kite
Our easy-breezy kite project is the best way to have fun on a windy day!
Arrange the sticks in a cross, with the short stick about three quarters of the way up the long stick. Tie them together.
Put the cross on top of the paper and draw lines to connect the ends of the sticks. Cut along the lines to create the shape of your kite. (Ask a grown-up for help with the cutting if you need to.)
Decorate your kite! We’ve chosen a bright tiger design, but you can make another animal or just paint a cool pattern.
Attach the sticks to the back of the kite with sticky tape. Add ears if you like, too!
Using a sharp pencil, make holes either side of the long stick about 3cm above the short stick and 5cm below it.
Tie string through both sets of holes so that you have a loop about 15cm long between them.
Make a spool and wind some string around it (about three metres).
Tie the end of your spool string to the middle of your kite string.
Make a kite tail from crepe paper. Decorate it and stick it on!
