Create a

constellation projector

Look up some animal constellations in a book or online and pick your favourite (there are lots of animal-themed ones to choose from!). Or you can scroll down this page to download and print our templates.

Copy your chosen constellation stars onto the bottom of your paper cup with a pencil. If you like, you could draw them as a mirror image of the picture you’re copying so they appear the right way round when you use the projector.

Very carefully poke the cocktail stick through the stars you’ve marked on the paper cup to make small holes.

Decorate your cup. Perhaps you could draw the animal or object that your constellation is named after?

When it’s dark, shine your torch through the cup to make your stars appear on your wall.
