Step up environmental support to Back British Farming, says WWF

Commenting on Back British Farming Day Sofia Parente, Head of Policy (Production), at WWF said:

“Climate change and extreme weather events are causing chaos for farmers , reducing yields and driving up consumer prices.

Many farmers are embracing nature friendly farming to build resilience against flood and drought. Many include climate and nature measures in their business models, and it’s crucial we continue to support them in this transition.

This is why we are calling on government to step up environmental support, and for businesses to both invest and pay a fair price for the food farmers produce – that would be the true way to Back British Farming.”
