Government must deliver and make EIP a true priority
David Walsh, head of public affairs at WWF said:
“We welcome the EIP’s endorsement of Nature-Positive Transition Pathways, something we have long called for, to halt and reverse nature loss across England and the UK.
It is also positive that the new EIP acknowledges the importance of curbing air pollution and restoring landscapes across the country. Government must now deliver and make this a true priority. Nature loss and degradation are jeopardising the country’s economic growth. And we know communities and businesses are already being affected by risks like flooding, droughts, and pollution.
We urgently need to implement the EIP and integrate its targets into corporate and government decision-making."
