‘Shift from legislating to action on nature’ says WWF

David Walsh, Head of Public Affairs at WWF said: “This King’s Speech must mark the point where we shift decisively from legislating to action on nature. Our climate and nature targets were agreed by governments of all political persuasions and it is now essential that government deliver on these. This means ending fossil fuel dependence in our energy system, eliminating deforestation from UK supply chains and accelerating the shift to nature friendly farming. Only by acting on climate and nature can we safeguard the public, strengthen the economy and protect the country’s long‑term security.”
