What is a Feel Good Forest Trail?
We’re excited to be teaming up with Forestry England - the experts who care for our nation’s forests, making sure they thrive for generations to come.
This autumn, we’re inviting families to visit our brand-new interactive Feel Good Forest Trails, designed to help you get your daily dose of nature. Our trails offer the opportunity to go outside and get moving, discovering the sights, sounds and scents of the forest.
Designed especially for families with children aged 6–12, each forest trail is packed with forest-themed activities that spark curiosity and encourage learning. They’re perfect for keeping both little and big imaginations inspired!

Family fun
As you explore our trails, you’ll discover more about how the seasons affect our forests here in England and what’s happening 5,000 miles away, in the Amazon!
Along the way, you’ll learn about how plants, wildlife and fungi adapt to different weather patterns and daylight hours. By connecting with nature close to home, we can all play a part in protecting it everywhere. Plus, our free Forest Activity Pack shares ideas to help you get your daily dose of nature, whether you're out exploring, or relaxing at home.

Helping you get your daily dose of nature
Our Feel Good Forest Trails are part of WWF’s Prescription for Nature campaign, encouraging families to spend at least 20 minutes a day getting a daily dose of nature to help boost mental wellbeing, reduce stress, and discover ways to help protect our natural world.
Spending time in nature has been proven to boost wellbeing, and Forestry England’s beautiful forest spaces offer the perfect setting to unwind and connect with trees and wildlife.
