What is a Feel Good Forest Trail?

In partnership with Forestry England, specialists in caring for the nation’s forests, we created 20 trails across the UK to engage families with children aged 6-12. They were designed to help you enjoy a daily dose of fresh air and nature. Each trail encouraged you to slow down and enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of the season.

Along the routes, wanderers discovered how plants, wildlife and fungi have, so far, adapted to changing weather and daylight patterns. They uncovered how the seasons shape our forests here in England — and even what’s been happening 5,000 miles away in the Amazon!

The Feel Good Forest Trails aren't open at the moment, but that doesn't mean you can't still explore the wonders of nature near you. Download our free Forest Activity Pack, full of simple, uplifting ideas to help you enjoy your daily dose of nature — whether you’re out exploring or relaxing in the garden at home.

Helping you get your daily dose of nature

Our Feel Good Forest Trails were part of WWF’s Prescription for Nature campaign, encouraging families to spend at least 20 minutes a day getting a daily dose of nature to help boost mental wellbeing, reduce stress, and discover ways to help protect our natural world.

Just 20 minutes a day in nature each day can improve your mental wellbeing, and the UK's beautiful forest spaces offer the perfect setting to unwind and connect with trees and wildlife.
