What is a Feel Good Forest Trail?

This spring we’re inviting you to step into nature and explore our Feel-Good Forest Trails. Designed to help you enjoy a daily dose of fresh air and nature, each trail encourages you to slow down and enjoy the sights, sounds and scents of the season.

In partnership with Forestry England, specialists in caring for the nation’s forests, we’ve created 20 trails across the UK to engage families with children aged 6-12.

Each forest trail is designed to encourage discovery and spark curiosity. They’re perfect for inspiring all ages – from little explorers to those rediscovering the simple joy of being outdoors.

Family fun

As you wander along our trails, you’ll uncover how the seasons shape our forests here in England — and even what’s happening 5,000 miles away in the Amazon! Along the route, you’ll discover how plants, wildlife and fungi adapt to changing weather and daylight patterns.

Don’t forget to download our free Forest Activity Pack, full of simple, uplifting ideas to help you enjoy your daily dose of nature — whether you’re out exploring or relaxing in the garden at home.

Helping you get your daily dose of nature

Our Feel Good Forest Trails are part of WWF’s Prescription for Nature campaign, encouraging families to spend at least 20 minutes a day getting a daily dose of nature to help boost mental wellbeing, reduce stress, and discover ways to help protect our natural world.

Just 20 minutes a day in nature each day can improve your mental wellbeing, and Forestry England’s beautiful forest spaces offer the perfect setting to unwind and connect with trees and wildlife.
