Stow Bedon site represents "farming against nature", says WWF
WWF have submitted an objection to Cranswick's retrospective planning application for their Cherry Tree Farm site in Stow Bedon.
Commenting on the WWF objection Jake White, head of legal advocacy, at WWF said:
“This site represents farming against nature. The construction of the sheds in breach of the original planning permission has resulted in harmful environmental effects for climate, nature and people.
WWF has deep concerns about the way in which the developer has assessed the significance of the emissions and the way in which nature impacts are addressed in the environmental impact assessment.
This site is ruining local people’s lives with the release of untold amounts of noxious gases, which the regulators have failed to tackle. We believe that these gases are damaging local highly protected sites for nature, and that Cranswick simply hasn’t assessed these impacts properly."
