About the challenge
Our Tanzania Challenge will bring you closer to WWF's work and the incredible wildlife and landscapes we support. During the first half of the trip, you'll join Maasai guides and trek through the captivating African bush. The spectacular route passes Mt. Kitumbeine, the game-filled plains of Nagarirat and the escarpment of the Rift Valley.
Following your exhilarating trek, the adventure continues with two unforgettable days exploring the breathtaking Lake Natron ecosystem. Set against the surreal beauty of the soda lake - home to thousands of vibrant lesser flamingos - you’ll immerse yourself in WWF Tanzania’s inspiring conservation work.
Guided by passionate local experts, you’ll learn about WWF's efforts to protect wildlife and empower communities. Witness first-hand how nature-based farming - such as beekeeping projects, sunflower cultivation, and sustainable poultry farming - is transforming lives and landscapes. Who are Charity Challenge?
To deliver the trip, WWF are partnering with Charity Challenge who specialise in delivering adventure challenges, allowing participants to raise money for the charity of their choice. Over the last 25 years they have created and managed international expeditions which have enabled people to raise over £91 million for thousands of charities. Charity Challenge handle the transport, accommodation, and meal arrangements throughout the trip.
How much does it cost?
There is a £450 registration fee to secure your place, followed by an additional £550 payment due 10 weeks prior to departure to cover the cost of fights and air taxes.
In addition, participants must raise a minimum of £4,950 in sponsorship donations. This minimum sponsorship target helps to cover the cost of hosting the trip as well as generating vital funds for WWF in the UK and Tanzania.
When do I need to have raised the £4,950 minimum?
WWF will pay the balance of the trip costs in advance so we ask for you to have raised at least 80% (£3,960) of your target 12 weeks prior to departure (14/03/2026), with the remaining £990 due within 4 weeks of completing your challenge (11/07/2026).

The final booking deadline is 28th March 2026 but as there only 30 places available, we expect to reach capacity well in advance of this date.
