Your Earth Hour Stories

My reception class did a craft project on making a paper plate earth for Earth Day 2026
The children and teachers at Quince Tree Day Nursery in South Ockendon,Essex are on a mission to “Save The Bees!”.They have made a picture that they hope will encourage more people to plant more seeds to “Save The Bees!”. Every person who plants more seeds for Bees will be a Bee Hero!
We have been planting many beautiful plants and flowers, specifically to attract pollinators. The children have sown lots of seeds and have enjoyed watching them germinate!
I'm home educating my nature loving children. They're currently looking at David Attenborough and what a national treasure he is. They've loved watching documentaries and have studied some of his writing through comprehension. They're keen eco warriors and they ensure that nothing goes to waste!
We try plant flower in our garden and feed birds and water with home made fat balls and hang in back garden
Our school is proud to support Earth Hour by creating a wildlife garden as part of our Forest School. This project will transform an outdoor space into a safe and welcoming habitat for local wildlife, helping to encourage biodiversity and support nature.
I am teaching my granddaughter giving her all the knowledge she can take in in every subject that there is she is enjoying everything I can teach her it's a joy to watch her
We’ve been enjoying getting out of the house in these warmer twilight evenings, and heading over to the fields by us to watch the bats flit about. It’s a great way to observe nature, listening to the birds singing around us as they settle down; we’ve witnessed some gorgeous sunsets too!
Each class is creating a giant piece of eco-art using only recycled materials to celebrate Earth hour. We'll soon have a goant turtle, manta ray, shark and octopus to remind us why we need to protect our oceans
We have a earth dome and chickens
We carried out a nature survey in an area of our school grounds during our Eco Club meeting - results attached
We will explore trees on our site. We will measure their width to estimate height. We will try to identify them using apps and their bark, buds and if lucky leaves and blossom. We will then create a map of the school and print QR codes to identify different trees and the species they support.
