FAQ

Please find our frequently asked questions below:

How do I sign up and collect donations?

You can register for the challenge and your free WWF swim badge by choosing your distance and following the links: 5k, 10k, or 20k - whichever suits you best!

Share your fundraising page with friends and family and ask them to sponsor you to swim your kilometres over August.

I'm worried I won't get any donations

Remember, you’ve got plenty of time to collect donations, so try not to worry. Here’re some of our top fundraising tips:

Donate to your own fundraiser – it shows your friends and family that you’re taking your challenge seriously!
See if your employer has a ‘matched donations’ policy – you could potentially double the amount your raise!
Keep your friends and family updated with your challenge and they'll donate once they see what you're doing.
Personalise your fundraiser blurb & photo - this makes a huge difference! Tell people what's motivated you to take on the challenge.

How do we track our kilometres and do I need to provide evidence of completing them?

There's no need to prove you've completed your kilometres - but you're able to log your kilometres on your WWF fundraiser so you can keep track and share your progress with friends & family so they can see how well you're doing! You'll also receive a paper tracker with your WWF swim badge if you prefer to keep tally that way.

What is a Social Sync fundraiser?

Upon registration, we automatically create you a Facebook fundraiser, Just Giving page and an additional Social Sync fundraising page, which we call your WWF fundraiser. You can receive donations to this page much like any other fundraising page and you can log your kilometres on it too. Your Social Sync fundraiser total will reflect your total across your other pages too.
