Dye, acrylic and seaweed ink on satin 130x190cm
Price: £7,500
“After testing how the ink looked, I somewhat emulated its colour in a mix of dyes and acrylics, and then combined the seaweed ink into a kind of alchemic, hot dye bath. I generally use satin as the toxic and synthetic base for my work and was interested in the friction that played out while using the natural seaweed ink. It produces a wonderfully elusive colour, shifting like the tides as the daylight changes throughout the day in my studio. I clamp dyed a pattern of stars into the painting and titled the work after a song from The Horrors second album. I like to load paintings with an openness, considering multiple interpretations and dualities, but it's what people bring to the work themselves that gives it life.
I think a lot about emanation, cause and affect, and I hope collaborative ecological farming projects like this can get the support they need to keep making positive changes to our environment and how we choose to interact with it.”

AML (Anti Money Laundering) checks
Due to government legislation, WWF-UK is obliged to perform identity checks on high value orders. If a buyer seeks to purchase an Artwork over £8,000 (or multiple Artworks with a cumulative value over £8,000), this is defined as a high value order. If the Artwork you are seeking to purchase is over this threshold, a deposit of £8,000 will be taken through the website to secure your interest in such Artwork. WWF-UK will then get in touch with the purchaser to facilitate the required anti-money laundering checks (AML checks). Once this has been completed to WWF-UK’s satisfaction a pending purchaser will be notified and arrangement will be made to take the remaining payment, and complete the sale(s). The £8,000 deposit will secure the Artwork whilst the AML checks are completed. Please note only one purchase process can be undertaken at a time so a purchaser wishing to buy multiple Artworks will have to buy them each separately. Full details of the purchase process and AML checks are available here - Terms and Conditions for Art For Your Oceans Sales - Terms and Conditions for Art For Your Oceans Sales
Collection will be for the buyer to arrange at their cost once WWF-UK confirm sale is complete. From this date, the buyer will be liable for storage and release fees, and from the business day following this date, insurance.
