Why you're doing this
Have a look around your bathroom and you might be shocked to notice just how many products you’ve bought that come in plastic packaging. While some of this is unavoidable, there are swaps we can all make to help make our bathrooms more ocean friendly. Why not try a shampoo or conditioner bar rather than from a plastic bottle. Or swap your bathroom liquid hand soap for a bar of soap.
How you'll make a difference
Switching from bottled liquid hand soap to bar soap in your bathroom is an easy swap we can all make. Bar soap uses 30% less water than liquid soap and is generally packed in cardboard or paper packaging with a small plastic liner, rather than completely plastic packaging. Throughout its lifecycle liquid soaps require nearly 20x more energy for packaging production than bar soaps do.
