Special Events

Every year, our inspirational invite-only events programme brings our work to life, both in-person and online. By providing exclusive access to the most influential voices in the sector, including our own, we organise events that show how you can be part of the solution to protect and restore our planet, and help influence and shape systemic change.

State of the Planet Address

WWF is one of the most trusted sources on the environment, climate, and wildlife. Our flagship event, ‘The State of the Planet Address’, has previously taken place on three occasions (2018, 2019, 2021) in London. Renowned headline speakers have included Sir David Attenborough, Dr Johan Rockström and Christiana Figueres, in front of a large and influential audience – people with the power and connections to drive change-making conversations across their networks. The State of the Planet Address is a powerful clarion call to action, highlighting the current state of our planet and the steps needed to create change.

Art for Your World

As part of its 60th anniversary programme, WWF joined forces with curatorial practice Artwise to launch Art for Your World, a new movement to engage the art world in raising funds and awareness to tackle the climate and nature crisis in the lead-up to the COP26 climate summit in Glasgow in November 2021. The campaign supports five key WWF projects and areas of work including protecting habitats and species.

Artists including Tracey Emin, Jadé Fadojutimi, Anish Kapoor, Vera Lutter, Jessica Rankin, Gavin Turk and Rose Wylie pledged their commitment to Art For Your World by selling pieces at Sotheby’s Contemporary Art Day Auction in October 2021, with proceeds donated to WWF. Meanwhile, Chila Kumari Singh Burman, Heather Phillipson and Bob and Roberta Smith created new, limited-edition prints exclusively for the campaign.
