BIG WINTER WANDER FUNDRAISING TIPS

Use these ideas to make hitting your target a walk in the park

ONLINE FUNDRAISING

First steps

The easiest way to raise funds and hit your target is to create a Just Giving fundraising page. It's secure for your friends and family to donate and it's a great tool to update your story and keep track of your progress.

Self donate

Be the first to donate to your own fundraising page; it shows your friends and family that you’re taking your fundraising seriously and can encourage others to do the same!

Share

We can't say it enough: share, share, share ! On social media, email and/or WhatsApp are great starting points. You can also ask your friends and family to share your page with their contacts to maximise your reach - and your donations.

Games and other ideas

Match Giving

Ask your employer whether they have a matched giving policy. One quick conversation could help double the money you raise!

Games

Use our 'guess the number of squirrels' game to kickstart your fundraising. You can even try some other games like pin the beak on the robin or hold a raffle of prizes from local businesses to help drum up more donations.

All things food

Bake some delicious biscuits or slices of cake to take on your walk and ask friends and family for a small donation to have them when they get peckish.

After your walk, you could mull some wine and cider for the grownups. Top tip: for children, you can mull apple juice!

Charge kettle tax! After your walk, everyone will want a nice tea or hot chocolate. Why not charge £1 every time the kettle is flicked on?
