What was the project?

Communities are more powerful than they know. Through the Mobilising Community Climate Action Project, we wanted to inspire and help bring people together to build a healthier, more prosperous future for themselves and their environment. We supported communities in Greater Manchester, Glasgow and Wales by offering up to £500 to help fund their local community climate action projects.

Through activity, discussion and creativity they brought together the people around them to make a change that benefitted their communities and our one shared home.

What did people do?

There is no silver bullet to fixing the nature and climate emergency. To address this global challenge means creating solutions that suit the needs of the local people and environment.

Projects that received funding reflected the diversity and creativity of the communities they supported. They included bicycle recycling projects, cycling and walking clubs, community gardens, food growing workshops and shared allotments, sustainable cooking classes, group foraging activities, sustainable fashion events, composting workshops, community radio stations and more.
